The dynamic fluidity of water meets the stasis of land in Water’s Edge, an exhibition of paintings by Patricia Doyle and Marcia Burtt.

Doyle uses painterly gesture to convey the reflectivity and liquidity of water in her abstracted images of local lagoons and ponds. Burtt represents sky, sand and water by means of juxtaposed color fields in her images of local beaches.

Both artists focus on exploring the relationship between abstraction and the particular in the landscapes we inhabit.
