Marcia Burtt Gallery presents Peggi Kroll Roberts and Ray Roberts, award-winning painters who tell the story of California through landscape.

Continuing in the tradition of California plein air painters, Ray Roberts shows rural California as we endeavor to preserve it. He depicts expansive mountain vistas and ocean views through energetic paint strokes, creating the texture of our landscape. His palette exploits the purples, blues, and golds we inhabit.

If Ray captures the big picture, Peggi Kroll Roberts cuts to the close-up. She’s a plein air artist who welcomes people into the mise en scène, telling the story of Californians enjoying their landscape. Impasto paint conveys the physical robustness of land, ocean, and figures. Using rainbow colors of beach umbrellas and still life subjects she celebrates daily pleasures and endless summer.
